We’re not ready to wait for Cherry Blossom season to end. We’re fortunate that Alaska Zwei, a vegan cafe that we work with in Tokyo, provided us with this delicious recipe for sake sakura to help us hang on to this beautiful season for a little while longer.
This recipe is based on Amazake, the classic Japanese sweet drink that is made from fermented rice. It has a slight tart, sweet flavor that is frequently utilized in the form of a sweetener for drinks and desserts. It also contains Sakura powder, which is made from dried cherry blossoms and is a popular addition to Japanese dishes and beverages. It imparts cherries and flowers to our lattes.
